Teni Flees As Gunshots Disrupt Performance In Port HarcourtNigerian singer, Teni Apata has narrowly escaped being shot after gunmen disrupted an event during her performance in Port Harcourt, Rivers state.

In a now-viral video which didn’t indicate the date of the incident, the musician could be seen performing ‘Power Rangers’, her hit song, at the yet-to-be-identified event.

Fans and music lovers at the show were still cheering the ‘Hustle’ crooner when violence broke out.

Amid the pandemonium, fans were seen trying to exit the hall while Teni was being led to the back of the stage by some officials.

It is however unclear what prompted the shooting as diverse claims have been making the rounds on social media.

An eyewitness who attended the show took to her Twitter page narrating what happened.

According to @JoyDaminabo_;

I was there and it was a mess people were rushed to clinics because of the stampede. They wanted to kidnap Teni then her bouncers started shooting everywhere not just towards the sky but everywhere it was horrible I feel bad for her.

Another eyewitness claimed the shots were fired after a fight broke out between two showgoers, some said members of rival cults engaged themselves in a shootout, while others claimed it was attempted kidnap of the artiste.

Details of the incident remain sketchy as of the time of this report. The musician has also not reacted to the development.

The incident has continued to elicit reactions on social media platforms, with fans expressing concerns over the singer’s safety.
