Tokyo Olympics: Nigeria Suffers Another Setback As Divine Oduduru Gets Disqualified From 100m Race

Nigeria has on Saturday, July 31 suffered another setback at 2020 Tokyo Olympics after Divine Oduduru got disqualified from a 100m race at the ongoing Games.

Oduduru was supposed to compete in the fifth heat of the race but he was disqualified over a false start.

The video replay showed America’s Fred Kerley had made a movement before the gun but it was Oduduru who was disqualified, starting from Lane 2.

Nigeria has had an unpleasant outing at the ongoing Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

Earlier today, Team Nigeria woke up to the news that 100m women medal hopeful, Blessing Okagbare had been handed a ban from the Olympics because of a failed drug test.

Also, Men’s basketball team, D’Tigers crashed out the games after third consecutive loss to US, Australia and Italy.

Although they had rounded off their pre-Olympic preparations with impressive wins over the U.S. and Argentina, they put up epileptic performances at the Olympics.

Then, three days ago, 10 Nigerian athletes were banned from the games.
