Recording Academy has announced nominees for 2021 Grammy awards with Beyonce snagging nine nominations for “Black Is King” musical film, despite not releasing a new album this year.
The nominations for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards were announced on Tuesday, November 24 during a livestream.
Fellow pop stars Dua Lipa and Taylor Swift and rapper Roddy Ricch followed with six nominations each. Brittany Howard, of Alabama Shakes fame, picked up five nods for her solo debut.
The nominations were unveiled during a livestream event, with past winners like Dua Lipa, Imogen Heap and Nicola Benedetti presenting alongside Gayle King and Sharon Osbourne.

The Golden Gramophones will be handed out during the Trevor Noah-hosted Grammys ceremony, held on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
