The former Nigerian federal lawmaker and his cohorts were convicted of organ trafficking at the Old Bailey Court, UK.

They were also found guilty of conspiring to arrange the travel of the victim with a view to exploiting him for his body part.

Nwamini had told the UK court that he was approached with an opportunity to work in the UK, which he had always dreamed of but never thought would happen.

He said;

He (Dr Obina Obeta) did not tell me he brought me here for this reason. He did not tell me anything about this.
