Portable, the controversial singer whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola has been arraigned at the magistrate court in Ifo, Ogun state.

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) earlier said Portable will face more than six charges bordering on alleged assault in court.

“He is in court. There’s nothing to elaborate on. He is in court presently. He has been arraigned,” Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun state police spokesperson, told newsmen on Monday morning.

Portable was arrested on Friday after the expiration of the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.

The ‘Zazoo Zeh’ crooner’s latest ordeal began last Tuesday after he had resisted arrest by the police in Ogun state.

Portable argued that the arrest was “unwarranted,” adding that he makes his money “legitimately.”

The 29-year-old also referred to himself as “a federal government liability”.
