Omah Lay Leaves Cryptic Message On Social Media, Says He Is “Embarking On A Journey To Discover His Wings’

Nigerian recording artiste, Omah Lay has written about his struggle with depression and other mental health ailments in the past.

In a post shared on his Instagram account on Thursday, the singer mentioned that should he go into obscurity in the meantime, it is because he is going to discover his wings.

The ‘Soso‘ crooner had this to say,

Angels are suppose to fly

He continued, “So when you don’t hear from me in a while, just know that I am somewhere working on my wings.”

Stanley Omah Didia is a Nigerian singer-songwriter who gained mainstream popularity with his 2020 EP, Get Layd.

He released his debut studio album, Boy Alone in 2022 to a critical acclaim. He has been described as one of the most talented recording artistes in his generation.

Omah Lay has been one of the celebrities in the country who have spoken openly about his battles with depression, suicidal thoughts and heartbreak.

As a matter of fact, his debut studio album themed around the melancholies of his personal life.

After losing his father at 13, Omah Lay kept his family alive by illegally refining crude oil in the creeks. He’s escaped from the military and cultists, but not his demons.

The 2020 Headies Next rated award winner in July 2022 to his official Twitter account to share his experience and how he realized that he’s one of the best Africa has ever had after listening to the Boy Alone album.

He said,

I wanna spill my heart on this app like this like this

“Boy Alone might be the last time y’all will hear me cry on a song. On G I was dead ass down, insecure, scared, depressed, losing my mind like I was literally gonna kill myself.
