Peter Obi, who is the 2023 presidential candidate of Labour Party, asserted that 70 percent of Nigerian politicians have no business being in politics and the leadership of the country, adding they should be flushed out.

The former Anambra State Governor made this assertion on Sunday, June 19, at the Men of Valour conference with the theme: “Navigating the corridors of power, the church, and the politics” organized by the Revival House of International Church (RHOGIC) in Abuja.

According to Peter Obi, politics in the country is just like a case where lunatics have taken over the asylum, stating that the system needs to be changed.

In his words:

We can’t allow this gangsterism to continue, Nigerians should take back their country. 70 percent of those who are in politics today should not have any reason to be there.

I have said it, politics in Nigeria is a case where lunatics have taken over the asylum.

Earlier, members of the Peoples Democratic Party and All Progressives Congress in Imo North Senatorial District of Imo State on Sunday, June 19, collapsed their structures into the Labour Party and pledged their loyalty and support to its presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

This was at a ceremony at Umuaro community in the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state.

A former Deputy Chief of Staff to a former governor of the state, Chikwem Onuoha, said that the decision was reached after an investigation revealed that Peter Obi was the best presidential material among other presidential candidates.

Onuoha said that APC and PDP had misruled Nigeria for the past 23 years, adding that it was time Nigerians voted for Peter Obi to rescue the country.
