APC Releases Programme Of Events For National ConventionAll Progressives Congress (APC) National Executive Council (NEC) has on Wednesday transferred power to its National Working Committee (NWC) for 90 days.

NEC transferred its powers to the NWC under the leadership of the party’s National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

Within this period, the NWC led by Abdullahi Adamu will take decisions on behalf of the party’s NEC.

The decision was taken after Abdullahi warned against the illusion that it could not lose an election in 2023.

He reminded the stakeholders of what the opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), experienced in 2014 because of disunity.

The decision to transfer the NEC’s powers to the NWC followed a motion sponsored by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.

The motion was seconded by Nasir el-Rufai, Kaduna governor, APC national secretary, Iyiola Omisore, told journalists.

Omisore said the NEC resolved to transfer its powers in line with article 13(3) of the party’s constitution.

This means the party’s NWC could solely fix the party’s schedule ahead of the 2023 general election.
