#FreeDawisu: Ganduje’s Aide Not In Our Custody – DSS Denies Arresting Salihu Tanko-Yakasai For Calling For Buhari’s ResignationDepartment of State Services (DSS) has denied arresting Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, media aide to Kano Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, over his comments against President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress party.

Salihu Tanko-Yakasai, had called on President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to either deal with bandits in the country or resign.

Following this, it was reported by friends and family that he had gone missing, only to be revealed few hours after that he is in the custody of DSS.

Abubakar Sadiq, who is the handler of the Twitter handle and official website of Kano state government, in a tweet posted on Saturday morning, February 27, disclosed this whereabout.

However, the DSS State Director, Muhammad Alhassan denied this in a statement saying;

We have not arrested or even invited Salihu, don’t forget he is our friend, sometimes, he advises us on issues of critical Security situations in Kano.

On Friday, Tanko-Yakasaithrough his Twitter page, while reacting to the abduction of students at Government Girls’ Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State, said;

The fact that the development comes about a week after some schoolboys were also abducted by bandits in Kagara, Niger State, shows the government has failed its primarily responsibility.

He said the All Progressives Congress-led government had failed Nigerians, noting that citizens cannot continue to lament when tragedy occurs without taking any action to prevent a repeat.
