, the co-convener of #RevolutionNow who was arrested alongside Omoyele Sowore in 2019 and later released on bail, has been rearrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).

On August 4, 2019, the founder of #RevolutionNow and publisher of SaharaReporters, Sowore staged a protest in Lagos state which led to his arrest.

Similarly, Olawale Bakare was arrested in Osogbo, Osun state while leading the protest but they were released on bail after some months in detention.

In a fresh protest on Wednesday, Bakare and members of #RevolutionNow converged at Correspondents’ chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Osun state, informing newsmen that they wanted to address them.

While waiting outside for the leadership of the chapel to invite them in, some policemen approached them and were discussing with the protesters.

Olawale and three other members of the group were however arrested by DSS during the protest against bad governance, lack of infrastructure, extra-judicial activities in the country.
