Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 404 as total coronavirus cases in the country exceeds 42,000.

This comes two days after the country’s total coronavirus surpassed the 41,000 mark.

NCDC in a tweet on Wednesday has now announced;

On Tuesday, Nigeria recorded 41,805 infections, 18,764 recoveries and 868 death cases across the country.

With the latest toll, total cases have now increased to 42,208 with 19,004 recoveries and 873 casualties across the country.

Also, NCDC in its July 28 situation report has revealed that overall samples tested nationwide have increased from 267,842 to 272,748.

Meanwhile, Dapo Abiodun, governor of Ogun state, has directed religious centres in the state to reopen from August 14.

In March, the state ordered the closure of worship centres to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The governor on Wednesday has now listed conditions for the reopening of worship centres saying any religious centre that violate the stipulated regulations, which include the use of face masks and social distancing, will be penalised.
