Number Of Coronavirus Cases In Nigeria Spikes, As NCDC Announces 14 New Confirmed Cases

Nigeria’s total confirmed Coronavirus cases had taken a spike, as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announces 14 new confirmed cases- the highest numbers yet, since the first case was confirmed in the country.

The centre made this known in a tweet, stating that the agency has confirmed the 14 cases in FCT and Lagos.

NCDC added that, 6 of the cases were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travelers and 1 of the cases is a close contact of a confirmed case. 

14 new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Nigeria: 2 in FCT, 12 in Lagos. Of the 14, 6 were detected on a vessel, 3 are returning travellers into Nigeria & 1 is close contact of a confirmed case. As at 7:35 pm 26th March, there are 65 confirmed cases, 3 discharged, 1 death

The NCDC in its tweet added that “further epidemiological information will be shared in our daily situation report, collated at midnight of each day.”

This follows an increase in confirmed Coronavirus cases in Bauchi, as a close friend of Bauchi’s Governor, Bala Mohammed, tests positive to the disease on March 26. 

MDB had earlier reported that Bala Mohammed tested positive to the virus on March 24.
