What attracts you to Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu? His bold vision for Lagos? His deep thought on how to combat the Lagos challenges? Or is it his smart fashion style? Well it seems that’s not all.
We recently got wind of a new wave in town; The BOS Night Campaign. So we decided to do some digging to get to the heart of the buzz. Here is what we found.
The BOS Night Campaign, which will run till the end of February, 2019, is designed to ensure that no stone is left unturned in sharing Sanwo-Olu’s vision about a greater Lagos with all the residents.
Working with a Lighting Tech Company, Light & Lyrics, the project team will brighten up all the nooks and crannies of the city that hardly go to bed. Ultra-high definition light projectors are being used to beam specially-designed video content on buildings and bridges in various local government areas.
This content is also being pushed online across various social media platforms to ensure engagement and interaction. Participants could win recharge cards and cash prizes.
We spoke with the spokesperson of the night campaign management team, Peter Nnamonu, He said the project is driven by the need to deepen public participation, which has become the most acceptable perspective of democracy.
He also added that BOS has come this far because of the involvement of the masses in his campaign, and that he cannot but continue to explore other innovative options to make the exercise more inclusive.
He further noted that democracy is not only about competition among political parties and candidates but also about people and public participation.
Social media users have started sharing their thoughts on the night campaign on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter via @lightandlyrics.
