Nigerian football fans can gear up for a football feast, as the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) has secured the rights to broadcast all 52 matches of the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament live. This exciting announcement arrived on Wednesday via a post on NTA’s X account. 

In a significant move to democratize access to the continent’s premier footballing event, NTA partnered with AfroSports TV, a cross-continental free-to-air (FTA) sports channel, to secure the broadcasting rights. This collaboration ensures that millions of Nigerians across the nation can enjoy the tournament without financial barriers.

“NTA signs a memorandum of understanding with Afro Sports TV for transmission of 52 games of African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire,” the post read.

With 24 national teams set to compete for the coveted trophy, fans can anticipate weeks of high-octane action, dramatic moments, and a celebration of African footballing talent.
