Ministerial Nominee, Balarabe, Collapses During Interview Session With Lawmakers

Abbas Balarabe, the ministerial candidate for Kaduna State, passed out during the Senate’s screening of him.

As one of the Kaduna senators was congratulating Balarabe after he ended his speech to the lawmakers, he passed out.

GodsWill Akpabio, the Senate President, began to yell, “Bring water and sugar,” as he collapsed. “Call Dr. Musa.”

Akpabio quickly made a request for a closed-door session.

Balarabe was nominated as a replacement for the former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

His name was conveyed in a letter read by Akpabio at the plenary on Tuesday.

Balarabe’s name was read alongside Dr Jamila Ibrahaim and Ayodele Olawande as Minister of Youths and Minister of State for Youths respectively who were earlier nominated by the President.
