Joseph Aloba, Mohbad‘s father, has responded to allegations surrounding his son’s death.
Mohbad died on Tuesday at the age of 27 and was buried on Wednesday.
Since his death, there have been speculations and accusations pointing towards Naira Marley, his former label boss.
These claims were fueled by various videos purporting that the late singer was bullied by industry practitioners.
Mohbad’s prior faceoff with Naira Marley and his contentious exit from Marlian records also drove the claims.
In a viral video during his brush with law enforcement, Mohbad had also instructed fans to blame Naira Marley if any harm came to him.
In a recent interview, Aloba said that he has heard about various incidents that occurred with Mohbad, including an attack during a shoot with Zlatan.
However, he added that he cannot attribute his son’s death to Naira Marley.
Aloba said the individuals responsible for the attack were not associated with the label boss.
“I heard a lot of things happened to him; we cannot say it is Naira Marley because he was attacked when he was doing this with Zlatan,” he said.
“We cannot say it is Naira Marley because the people that came are not Naira Marley. We cannot say it is Naira Marley that did it.”
On September 14, Aloba disclosed that Mohbad passed away after an auxiliary nurse was invited to administer an injection.
The police have begun an investigation into Mohbad’s death and mentioned the possibility of exhuming his corpse for an autopsy.
Following Mohbad’s death, over 200,000 people have called for the ban of Marlian Records, Naira Marley’s music label, in a petition.
Ironically, Naira Marley has also mourned Mohbad’s demise and joined the call for a probe into his death.
