GTBank Faces Backlash After Upgraded App Locked Out Millions Of Customers

GTBank Releases 2020 Full Year Audited Results

Guaranty Trust Bank Limited (GTBank), also known as GTCO, on Thursday, faced widespread criticism from social media users after many reported being stranded for cash due to an upgrade on its GTWorld application.

This correspondent had received a series of messages from GTBank about the upgrade of the application which was scheduled for Wednesday, July 12.

“One thing we know is that everything gets better only by change and never by chance.

“This is why we have made exciting changes to the design and experience of our GTWorld Mobile Banking App which we are ready to deliver to you from the 12th of July, 2023.

“We can’t wait to share what we’ve been working on with you,” the email had read.

However, on Thursday, angry customers reported glitches while trying to effect transactions with many coming on Twitter to air their grievances.

Meanwhile, checks by MBD into the social media pages of GTBank revealed an indifference towards the plight of customers, despite the promotion channeled into the application upgrade.
