The seating arrangement at the Osogbo Eid praying site on Wednesday resulted in an altercation between some of Ademola Adeleke’s aides and Dr. Ajibola Basiru, an ex-spokesperson for the Senate.

For the Eid-el-Kabir prayers, Basiru had come to the praying area with some notable Osogbo natives. As he waited for the prayers to start, it was learned that some individuals who were reportedly the governor’s aides told him he was sitting in Adeleke’s place and that he was being asked to move to the second row.

Although Basiru objected to the directive, he was seen getting up from his previous seat.

At the time the commotion around the seating arrangement was taking place, Adeleke hadn’t yet arrived at the location.

Upon arrival, Adeleke, who was ushered into the praying ground by Asiwaju Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Dr Tunde Badmus, could not proceed to the front row as the disagreement was still being resolved.

The governor’s convoy was later observed driving out of the area before the prayers started.

After the prayers, the entrance to the prayer ground was locked by the police, following claims that an order had come for Basiru’s arrest, but the entrance was later opened and the participants left the premises.
