He said;

Without any intentions of mischief, this government was elected to function from 2019 to precisely May 29, 2023. Should we now stop functioning one month before the next appointment because we’re coming to the end of the tenure?

This government must work. We expect the next government to also work until the very last day of their tenure.

He said that because they had promised to work for Nigerians to the very end, the council continued to approve numerous contracts totaling billions of naira.

The preparation of an airport master plan for 17 airports across the nation will be funded with N449.9 million, according to the council. They include the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja and the Murtala Mohammed Airport in Lagos.

Others are Port Harcourt, Kano, Owerri, Benin, Enugu, Maiduguri, Yola, Kaduna, Calabar, Ilorin, Sokoto, Ibadan, Jos, Akure and Katsina airports.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, equally announced that the Council approved two major contracts for Ogoni in the second phase, a water project amounting to N22.8 billion as well as a N107 billion award for the remediation of newly identified hydro carbon impacted sites along the shoreline of Ogoni land.
