Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has issued a warning that any additional attacks on the G-5 Governors will incur the wrath of the Integrity Group, who will not hold back in retaliation.

He encouraged the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is running for president, to issue a warning to the party’s presidential campaign council members and forbid them from disparaging the organisation.

The warning was given by Wike on Monday, at the opening of the Indorama-Agbonchia-Ogale-Ebubu-East/West Link Road in Eleme Council of the State, which was officiated by Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, a former governor of Ondo State.

Recall that the G-5 governors, comprising Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State, and Samuel Ortom of Benue State, had come under fire for their support of “equity, justice, and fairness” in the party and insistence that the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, resign in order to make room

At the ceremony, Wike claimed that the G5 governors are peace enthusiasts who think that all party members should support peace and collaborate in order to achieve the party’s electoral triumph in the 2023 election.

He said;

Now, what I want to tell the presidential candidate of PDP is we need peace. We want all of us to be together for the party to win election. But let me say clearly, if your boys continue to attack the G-5 (governors), continue to attack the leaders of our party, we will strike back. If anybody again dares, in the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, to insult the PDP Governors G-5, insult our leaders of Integrity Group, we’ll fight back. Enough is enough.

The governor also said it is ludicrous for persons who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and abandoned the PDP at its trying moment, to dictate to him and his associates what to do in the party.

He added;

We want peace. All we want is equity, fairness and justice. Nobody should take us for granted. I cannot understand, people, who just left APC two weeks ago, are talking about PDP that we stayed and suffered to build. Even if anybody will talk about us not these miscreants.
