Veteran Nollywood actress, Sola Onayiga has passed away.
Sola Onayiga also known as ‘Kitchen Practical‘ or Ireti in the defunct television sitcom, Checkmate.
The veteran actress also acted as one of the several wives in the Fuji House of Commotion, a Nigerian sitcom produced and directed by Amaka Igwe. The show was a spin-off of 90s soap opera, Checkmate.
The news of her death was made public by founder of Best of Nollywood awards, Seun Oloketuyi.
He announced on his WhatsApp group Platform.

He added;
Auntie Sola who is best known for living delightfully the role of Ireti aka Cooking practicals in the defunct television sitcom ‘CHECKMATE’! Reportedly passed on this morning

Also confirming her demise via Twitter on Monday morning, Husseini Shaibu, Ph.D, a movie critic, Broadcast/Film and PRAD specialist wrote about it.

Earlier, Moji Delano reported that another Nollywood thespian, Ada Ameh also recently kicked the bucket. The actress died in Warri, Delta State.
The recent development is coming several weeks after she opened up about her mental health ailment. She mentioned that she was recuperating until the unfortunate incident occurred.
