Two German Shepherd dogs belonging to President Joe Biden and First Lady, Jill Biden have reportedly have been moved out the White House after the younger one, Major, displayed aggressive behavior towards staff and bit a member of security team.

According to CNN on Tuesday, the dogs have been sent back to Biden’s family home in Wilmington, Delaware.

Three-year-old Major was adopted from a shelter in 2018, making history for being the first shelter dog to live in the White House.

The dog reportedly behaved aggressively towards White House staff in the past, including barking, jumping and “charging.” However, 13-year-old Champ has “slowed down physically due to his advanced age”.

Citing “a person familiar with the dogs’ schedule”, CNN reports that sources confirmed the dogs’ current location in Delaware, though they also said the dogs have been known to stay there when the first lady is traveling.

The pooches officially moved into the White House on January 25 after spending the first week of the Biden administration at the Delaware home.

They have been allowed to roam the grounds around the complex and have been included in Oval Office photos.

In November, the then president-elect fractured his foot while playing with his dogs, reportedly slipping on Major.

Last month, Jill Biden speaking on Kelly Clarkson Show expressed that she was focused on getting the dogs settled.

She stated;

They have to take the elevator, they’re not used to that, and they have to go out on the South Lawn with lots of people watching them. So that’s what I’ve been obsessed with, getting everybody settled and calm.

Even though Donald Trump was the first president in more than 100 years not to have a dog, the White House has a long history with pets.
