Another UNILAG Professor, Duro Ajeyalemi Dies From COVID-19 ComplicationsDuro Ajeyalemi, a retired professor of science education at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has died from COVID-19 complications.

Ajeyalemi, the institution’s former dean of students affairs and immediate past registrar of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), died at the isolation centre at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi-Araba, in Lagos State.

He retired from UNILAG in 2020 after he clocked 70.

His demise comes less than three days after the death of Oye Ibidapo-Obe, a former vice-chancellor of UNILAG.

Ibidapo-Obe, a professor of systems engineering, reportedly died of COVID-19 complications in an undisclosed hospital .

Born November 7, 1950, Ajeyalemi had his primary education at the St Peter’s School, Ibokun (1956-61); secondary education at LA Secondary Modern School, Ibokun (1962) and Kiriji Memorial College, Igbajo (1963-67) before proceeding for his tertiary education at the Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo (1970-72) and UNILAG (1973-76).

He had his postgraduate education at the University of East Anglia, Norwich, UK (1978-81).
