Breaking: NCDC Announces 561 New Coronavirus Cases, 344 Recoveries

Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced 561 new cases of coronavirus and 344 recoveries on Tuesday night.

According to the centre’s latest data posted on Twitter;

It would be recalled that on Monday, the country’s total coronavirus exceeded the 25,000 mark having 25,133 cases with 9402 discharged patients and 573 causalities.

With the new toll, there are now 25,694 total cases, 9746 recoveries and 590 death cases across the country.

Also, total samples tested nationwide have moved from 132,304 to 134,257 as at June 29th, according to NCDC’s situation report.

In other news, Lagos state governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu through his commissioner for health, Akin Abayomi has announced that residents of the state who are unable to conduct their COVID-19 test in a government facility will pay N50,400 to get it done in a private laboratory.

Professor Abayomi made this known while launching the Lagos State Private-Public Consortium on the management of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

This, according to him, is to increase the capacity of the state government in the management of the pandemic across the country.

He said though the tests were being conducted in government owned laboratories are free, the approved private laboratories will conduct COVID-19 tests in the state at a cost of between N40,000 and N50,400.
