Police in Jigawa State have arrested 11 men for allegedly raping a 12-year-old girl at Limawa quarters in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson for the police in Jigawa, SP Abdu Jinjiri, confirmed the incident on Sunday.
He explained that the arrest was made after the police in the area received a complaint that one of the suspects, aged 57 from Ma’ai village, Dutse LGA was seen at Limawa market trying to lure the victim.
The spokesman said police arrested the suspect and during interrogation, the girl mentioned eleven persons who have also been raping her severally on different occasions.
SP Jinjiri revealed that all the eleven suspects were also arrested and have confessed to the offence.
The case is still under investigation at the State CID in Dutse.
