Lagos Discharges 11 Recovered Coronavirus Patients

Governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced that 11 Coronavirus patients have been discharged from the Infectious Disease Centre in Yaba on April 1. 

The Governor made this known in a tweet, stating that;

I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba.

They have fully recovered and have tested negative to #COVID19 and have been allowed to return home to their families.

According to Sanwo-Olu, the patients include two females and nine males, whose results came out negative after two rounds of Coronavirus tests.

He tweeted that;

The patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests. I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.

He added that this is the time to maintain vigilance against the deadly disease, stressing;

Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see. I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory – with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty.

Lagos state government had on March 30 discharged five coronavirus patients from the Infectious Disease Centre, Yaba.

The total number of recovered patients in Lagos has now increased to 19, including the Italian man who was the index case in Nigeria.
