A Lagos pharmacy Med Mark has been called out by Twitter users for selling hand sanitizer for N19,950 in the wake of the coronavirus disease in Nigeria.

Lawyer and activist, Segun Awosanya popularly known as Segalink who shared the story, posted a photo of the hand sanitizer with the price tag asking his followers to call out the pharmacy for the outrageous price hike.

The true enemy and threat to Nigeria is not #Coronavirus but those mercantilistic demons striving to profit from it. How can you ever make heaven by selling small sanitizer for N4,500?! 😡 #EndAvarice #EndCoronavirus pic.twitter.com/WP1npCGcSi

This is coming after the Federal Competition & Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), on February 29, released a memo warning suppliers and retailers of personal hygiene products like face masks, latex gloves, hand sanitizers and anti-bacterial wipes against using the excuse of coronavirus case in Nigeria to increase prices.
