The Amala Hangout is an event powered by RareAlaka Empire. It is a community of Amala lovers coming together to celebrate our culinary heritage, using Amala as the focal point.
Our first outreach was on the 23rd of March, 2019 and we were able to have at least 50 people together. It was fun and people loved the idea. As a result of the positive feedbacks, we held another one, on July 6, 2019. Amazingly we recorded about 400% increase from the first event and it was a memorable day.
The last one for this year is scheduled to hold on the 30th of November , 2019 at the National Museum of Unity, Alesinloye Ibadan. Our choice of venue is because we want to fuse our culinary and cultural heritage. This is our own way of bringing people together to learn about the rich history of Oyo state, while relishing a delicious plate of Amala.
Events for the day will include but not be limited to games, music, comedy, dance, amala, exhibition of vendors products, networking and so much more.
Also, while enjoying a delicious plate of Amala, attendees will be enlightened on Mental Health awareness. The recent spate of suicide and increasing rate of depression is what gave birth to this idea. The day promises to be an educative and entertaining one.
Tickets for the event cost only 2,000 Naira. It is advisable to get tickets before the day because the first 100 people to purchase get free goody bags from Kings oil.
