Nigerian Lady Steals Male Friend’s Generator, Sells It To Buy Hair And Cream Products

24-year-old Bimpe Adeite, was arraigned before a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, on a charge of stealing. According to Police prosecutor, Akpan Uko, Bimpe reportedly stole a generator valued N70,000 belonging to a male friend on Jan. 26, at No 13, Adamu St. Itoga, Badagry.

“The accused went to spend time with the complainant, so when he was not around on this particular day, she decided to steal the generator and sell it.

“She spent the money on her hair and cream products,” the prosecutor said.

Though she pleaded not guilty to the offence, however Akpan argued that the offence was punishable under Section 285 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011, and if found guilty of stealing the generator belonging to  Mr Denis Akanbi, Bimpe risks three years imprisonment.

The case was however adjourned until March 1 for further hearing, as Chief Magistrate Jimoh Adefioye granted bail to the accused in the sum of N100,000 and a surety who must provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

This is coming few months after a 29-year old lady, Mary Johnson landed in prison after she allegedly stole a lady’s hand bag containing condoms, which she mistakenly thought was money at a night club.

She was charged before a Lagos court and was remanded in prison custody.
The incident happened at Diamond Club located at Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the victim Florence Ahokpa kept her hand bag and was engaged in discussion with an undisclosed person when the suspect reportedly went and carried her bag. After the discussion, she came back to carry her bag but discovered that her bag was missing.

She raised alarm immediately, which was almost same time the suspect was hurriedly attempting to leave the club house with the bag of condoms.
