The Nigerian Army under the leadership of Lt. General Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff, has redeployed General Olusegun Adeniyi, who appeared in a viral video with his troops.

In the video, he was urging the military authorities to supply them with weapons and accurate intelligence to combat Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East region.

General Adeniyi made this demand after lamenting how his troop were outgunned and ambushed by Boko Haram fighters who had 15 gun trucks and fired over a hundred rockey propelled grenades.

Senior army officers told PREMIUM TIMES that the video was an indication of how strong the Boko Haram had become contrary to official claims that they had been technically defeated.

The major-general, who was the Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North-East, has now been redeployed to the army research centre in Maiduguri.

The Nigerian Army recently suffered a huge loss as over 70 soldiers were ambushed and killed by Boko Haram members in Borno State.
