Olumide Oworu Allegedly Attacked By Thugs In Lagos

The campaign convoy of Nigerian actor, Olumide Oworu, the candidate contesting for the Lagos State House of Assembly (Surulere Constituency 1) under Labour Party (LP) has been attacked by thugs again in Surulere, Lagos state.

The Nigerian actor made this known via a statement on his Twitter account on Thursday, March 16.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote,

My team and I were attacked on Tuesday as we attempted to campaign at Iponri, Surulere. A member of my team was injured, but we are thankful the incident didn’t escalate past the level it was. The case has been reported at the Iponri police station.”

He continued,

“I am not deterred by the incident. Instead I am more committed to seeing this through. We will pass through the wards in constituency 1 (Akinhanmi/Cole, Adeniran/Ogunsanya, Iponri Housing Estate/Eric Moore, Igbaja/Stadium, Shitta/Ogunlana Drive, Yaba/Ojuelegba). See you outside!

The actor’s colleague in the movie industry, Tomiwa Tegbe who also shared a video from the scene, said the attack occurred few minutes away from Bode Thomas, today, March 16.

It’s unclear the number of those injured in the attack.

This is coming weeks after Olumide revealed that he competing against his older colleague, Desmond Elliot in Surulere constituency, Lagos state.
