Total COVID-19 Toll Exceeds 65,000 As NCDC Announces 152 New Cases, 136 In LagosTotal COVID-19 toll has on Sunday, November 15 exceeded 65,000 as Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 152 new cases.

The health agency made the announcement via its official Twitter page @NCDCgov, with the breakdown of the new cases.

The breakdown is as follows; Lagos-136, Kano-4, Niger-3, Ekiti-2, Kaduna-2, Ogun-2, Taraba-2 and FCT-1.

Nigeria, on Saturday, recorded 64,996 coronavirus cases, 61,029 successfully treated patients and 1,163 deaths.

With the new toll, there are now 65,148 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 61,073 patients who have recovered from the virus and 1,163 deaths.

In other news, speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has on Sunday urged Nigerians not to relax in taking the necessary precautions against COVID-19.

Gbajabiamila made the call while speaking at the opening of a two-day training programme he organised for some health workers in Lagos States.

He said the COVID-19 pandemic was still very much around and posed existential threats, urging Nigerians to continue to observe all the prescribed COVID-19 protocols.

Gbajabiamila, who described as a cheering news the recent announcement that a COVID-19 vaccine had been developed, called on Nigerians not to stop observing the guidelines as the vaccine was not yet readily available.
