Popular short-form video app TikTok is launching a new initiative to celebrate creators who are making a positive difference. The TikTok Change Makers Program, announced this week, will donate a total of $1 million to support social impact creators and non-profit organizations around the world.

TikTok will be selecting 50 purpose-driven creators, like Nigerian creator Charity Ekezie, who will each receive a $25,000 grant to fuel their advocacy efforts. The program will also provide these creators with exclusive tools and resources to help them grow their audiences and amplify their positive messages.

The platform selected other purpose-driven creators from Africa, including @theroamingchef from Kenya, @doctor.siya from South Africa, and @pilot_onthegram from South Africa.

Ekezie is known for using her platform to dispel negative stereotypes about Africa and educate people about the beauty of African culture.
