As OAP and style icon Toke Makinwa travelled from Nigeria to Dubai with President Tinubu-sponsored delegates to COP28, conflicting responses have begun to surface online.
Amidst the world leaders and climate activists attending the ongoing COP28, Toke Makinwa, who recently hosted a spectacular 39th birthday party attended by prominent figures in Nigerian entertainment, is drawing attention with her appearance.
COP28 also known as 28th Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC is being hosted by the Government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a view to building on previous successes and paving the way for future ambition to effectively tackle the global challenge of climate change.
The summit is billed to run from 30 November to 12 December. Note that Nigeria is one of the countries that signed up to the original UN climate agreement in 1992.
Taking to her verified Instagram page today, December 2nd 2023, Toke Makinwa shared the video of her as she attends the COP28 and promises to update her fans and followers as events unfold.
Captioning the video, Toke Makinwa wrote; “Are you guys feeling this voice over videos??? Day 1 at #Cop28 TMXDxB.”

As expected, the video of Toke Makinwa stirred reactions online, while some questioned her presence at the COP28 as they expected the government to select another person with more knowledge of climate, others drummed support for Toke for attending such a meeting that matters to the nation.
Toke Makinwa was included on Tinubu’s 1,411 delegates to the Climate Summit in Dubai under an unpaid advisory capacity.
Is there anyone closely related, working for, working with or even accidentally connected to the Nigerian government that is working for free?
