Ministerial Nominees To Be Screened On Monday As Presidency Issues New Ruling

All ministerial nominees were instructed by the Presidency on Friday to finish their paperwork by Sunday, July 30, 2023, in order to be evaluated by the Senate on Monday, July 31, 2023.

This information was disclosed in a statement signed on Friday by Senator Abdullahi Gumel, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, which announced the beginning of paperwork for all cabinet nominations.

Prior to Monday’s screening, the nominees were instructed to go to his office at the National Assembly building between Friday, July 28, and Sunday, July 30 to pick up the required paperwork.

“Documentation for ministerial nominees has commenced and all nominees are expected to complete all necessary processes before the screening.

“The office will be open on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for this purpose, this is to enable all nominees to complete the process before the screening,” he said.

President Bola Tinubu, through his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, had on Thursday submitted a 28-member ministerial list which was read on the floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

No fewer than four former governors were nominated alongside 24 others who form part of Tinubu’s first set of nominees.
