Nnolim Nnaji, a former chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation, has vigorously refuted charges made by the late Hadi Sirika about his involvement in a dubious scheme on Nigeria Air.

Sirika accused Nnaji with attempting to acquire a 5% stake in Nigeria Air during an appearance on an ARISE TV programme on Sunday.

The former Minister recounted;

Hon Nnaji asked me that I should give him 5% of Nigeria Air to carry him along with his people, and I said to him at that time, ‘Honourable, a bidding process that has taken place, and some people won. So, I think you should go to those people and ask for the 5 per cent.

Nnaji, however, promptly denied these claims, claiming he never made such a request.

In a statement made public on Sunday, the lawmaker said Sirika had fabricated evidence against him because he insisted on acting morally.

Nnaji said;

Sirika is a drowning man struggling to grab anything on his way to survive the barrage of attacks he has been receiving since his controversial unveiling ceremony of the so-called Nigeria Air.
