Accusations that Cristiano Ronaldo and his model girlfriend are about to break up have been denounced by Ronaldo’s mother as “all lies.”
Just a few months ago, Ronaldo was in the news in the British media because of an explosive interview with Piers Morgan that led to his departure from Manchester United.
It’s been swiftly forgotten that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner even participated in what has been an exciting Premier League season after joining Saudi Arabian team Al-Nassr, though he did so in a minor capacity.
The former Real Madrid star’s romantic life has been the subject of almost continual rumours in Spain, therefore the opposite cannot be stated.
Multiple outlets have claimed that Ronaldo’s relationship with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez is on the rocks, despite the couple and their five children moving into a new home in Riyadh just a few months ago.
One Spanish TV programme, Socialite, claimed that Ronaldo was “fed up” with 29-year-old model’s habit of spending plenty of money in a Riyadh shopping centre.
A Spanish TikToker, Abel Planelles, claimed a fan told him of a row between the couple as they boarded a plane.
Speaking at a shop opening in her native Madeira, Ronaldo’s mother, Dolores Aveiro, shot down the rumours.
“It’s all lies,” the 68-year-old told media at a press event for a shop opening in Madeira.
Every couple argues, but what’s been written is a lie.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez, who have been together since 2016, have both hit back at the reports.
In a social media post, Georgina wrote;
The jealous one invents a rumour, the gossipy one spreads it and the idiot believes it.
Days later Cristiano, 38, posted a romantic snap on his Instagram of the couple kissing, with the caption: “Cheers to love.”
Ahead of the recent release of the second series of her hit Netflix show I am Georgina, Rodriguez said of her long-term partner;
Cristiano is marvellous. He’s a wonderful father, a wonderful son, brother, friend and partner, boss and employee because he’s an employee as well. He’s fantastic in every sense of the word.
Sometimes we’re at home eating and I look at him and think ‘How lucky I feel to be the one he’s chosen to create this wonderful family’ and I go to bed really happy.
