Buhari To Opposition Parties: Accept Court Judgement To Build Better Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged opposition parties to accept the verdict of the court.

Buhari made this call during his nationwide broadcast on Sunday, in Abuja, ahead of the election tribunal hearing which begins on Tuesday, May 30.

He said;

Irrespective of the outcome of the various cases, I urge all parties involved to accept the decision of our courts and join hands to build a better Nigeria.

The Independent National Electoral Commission declared Bola Tinubu of the governing All Progressives Congress as the winner of the Presidential polls held a week earlier, having polled 8,794,726 votes.

The commission declared that Atiku came second with 6,984,520 votes, while it announced Labour Party’s Peter Obi as the second runner-up with 6,101,533 votes.

Buhari also touted incoming President Bola Tinubu as the best candidate amongst the contestants in the recently-concluded elections.

Tinubu, who contested under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, won a close elections with his opponents, seeking redress at the courts over the results.

In his broadcast, Buhari said;

To my fellow brother, Tinubu, your ambition is to put Nigeria among the leading nations in the world and I have no doubt about your yearning for competence and equity. This means you will take the country higher than I did. You are the best candidate among all the contestants and Nigerians have chosen well.
