Nigerian thespians, Chioma Akpotha and Kate Henshaw has spoken about how political thugs have been disrupting the gubernatorial election at Lagos polls.
On Saturday, March 18, Chioma Akpotha disclosed how her polling unit has been disrupted by thugs again. It would be recalled that she her polling unit was also disrupted during the presidential election, a couple of weeks ago.
Speaking via her IG live earlier today, the Nollywood actress said they prevented them from bringing out their phones to record the scene.
The actress said the thugs had knives, bottles, and gun, and refused to let people bring out their phones, not even to make calls.
She said they came for her when they saw her with her phone and they tried to attack her. Further, she stated that she had to get into her car and drive off but they damaged her car.
She added that the violence today is way worse than what she experienced on the day of the presidential election.
The actress shared a video of scores of voters standing outside the polling unit, afraid to go in after thugs intimidated them.
She drove to a police truck to report the attack before driving home after saying she won’t put her life at further risk.

On the other hand, Kate Henshaw has stated that she cannot be intimidated into voting for a candidate who is not her preferred choice.
Henshaw also called out those responsible for the threats, reminding them that they are public servants and that she has taken note of their actions.
She captioned the video, “No one, I repeat no one can threaten me!!! I have every right to vote for whomever I want. No amount of abuse & vitriol will stop me from carrying out my civic duty!!
She further stated, “No one can intimidate me!! I have every right to carry out my duty No amount of abuse or vitriol will work.. You are a public servant!! I have taken note of all your thugs!!”
