Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour served as the gubernatorial candidate for Labour Party at the 2023 governorship election in Lagos state. He finished as the runner-up to the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a representative for the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the gubernatorial race.

In a recent conversation with the media on Wednesday, Gbadebo spoke about the disenfranchisement of certain voters and the intimidation by political thugs across various polling units in Lagos state.

He described the March 18 governorship election in the state to be marred with violence.

Speaking, Gbadebo stated that he is prepared to list out those who perpetrated the attacks on voters in the state. He mentioned that it is only ideal that he makes sure justice is served and Lagosians do not live in fear of voting at the next election.

The gubernatorial candidate went further to state that the ruling party, APC needs to be curbed from always inciting violence and propagating chaos during elections.

He went further to say, “There was no election in Lagos state. It was violent at multiple levels physically and diabolic.

“My dear Lagosians, our enemies are not our neighbours or our visitors or fellow Lagosians. Our common enemy is violence, insecurity, poverty, stagnation, corruption and underdevelopment.”
