Nigerian actress, Funke Akindele has taken down every political posts on her Instagram platform.

Funke Akindele served as the deputy to the gubernatorial candidate of Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the recently concluded 2023 governorship election in Lagos state on Saturday, March 18.

MDB understands that this is coming hours after the conclusion of the governorship election in Lagos State which was won by Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the election after he polled a total of 762,134 votes, which was more than twice the number of votes obtained by his closest rival, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who scored 312,329 votes.

Jandor came in third place with 62,449 votes.

It would be recalled that the popular thespian lost her polling unit in the Governorship election.

As at the time of this publication, Funke Akindele did not publish details to explain why she decided to take down the posts on her Instagram account.

In other news, Babajide Sanwo-Olu will be serving Lagos state for another four years.

The announcement of Sanwo-Olu’s victory was made by the INEC returning officer, Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, at about 1:15 am on Monday morning.
