TG Omori Opines Directors To Collect 10% Royalty For Shooting Videos

Nigerian music video director, TG Omori tweeted that he might start charging a 10% royalty on the video he shoots.

According to the celebrity music video director he hopes to use the proceed to fund the jet life he aspires to.

In due time music video directors will be getting at least 10% royalties from the streaming income of every music video directed for their moral contribution to the visuals. With this I can successfully buy my dream island and private jets,” the tweet reads.

Omori continued,

Dreamt I found the place where all my money was hidden, Told it to myself and came up with the interpretation. I’ll soon be rich!

Since he shared the post Thursday, February 9, it caused a division among social media users.

Some commentators have dubbed his opinion as selfish and inconsiderate due to his attempt to reap what he never sowed.

Others are of the opinion that the idea isn’t far-fetched as music videos contribute to a song’s success hence it’s fair for the video director to share in the royalty.

TG Omori, also known as Boy Director is a Nigerian music video director and cinematographer.

The superstar music director directed music videos for recording artists across various genres of new generation, includes Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, Fireboy DML, Falz, Timaya, Naira Marley, Asake and many others.
