Karim Adeyemi scored the winning goal for Dortmund against Chelsea

Nigerian-born German forward, Karim Adeyemi disclosed that the Nigerian food, ‘fufu’ has aided his speed tremendously.

The Borussia Dortmund forward made this claim in the post-match interview in the 1-0 win against English football outfit, Chelsea in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash on Wednesday, February 15.

Adeyemi who is of Nigerian-descent scored the only goal of the game in the latter part of the match.

The 21-year-old football superstar picked up the ball from his own half before dashing towards the opponent’s where he rounded the goalkeeper before putting the ball at the back of the net.

In the post match interview, Karim Adeyemi was asked by the interviewer how he was able to pulsate at a rapid rate.

Explaining, Adeyemi stated that he got his genes from his father and also, the food he consumes has also helped him a lot. The interviewer then went forward to ask, what type of food.

I eat a lot of African food, but, I have good genetics from my dad, so I think it will be a little difficult for you to become fastAdeyemi stated.

It’s a Nigerian food called Fufu,” the 21-year-old forward added.

His teammate, Jude Bellingham has also confirmed his speed.

Speaking in a post-match interview, he had this to say, “He is rapid and we know how fast he is. He shows us all the time in training. It’s just about putting him in an environment where he feels like he can use his strengths to the best of the team. He did that there as soon as he broke loose.
