Portable Calls Out Director, TG Omori After Asking Him To Pay $50k For Video Shoot

Nigerian recording artiste, Portable whose real name is Habbeb Okikiola on Friday morning called out popular music video director, ThankGod Omori Smith aka TG Omori for asking for the sum of $50,000 (approximately N23 million) to shoot a music video.

The singer-songwriter who is renowned for being outspoken stated that he is not prepared to such amount of money for a music video.

Portable in a now leaked chat on social media requested TG Omori to shoot his video claiming he does not have money but he is loyal to the video director.

In response to the request, TG Omori demanded $50k from him, which infuriated the ”Zazu Zeh” crooner, who asked him if he produces videos for ghosts.

Portable stated his displeasure in the voice notes he sent to TG, stating that the video director had made a mistake.

The duo have been trending on Twitter, with many music lovers wading into the discourse.

Portable isn’t the first to protest TG’s rates. In 2022 another Nigerian recording artiste, Blaqbonez did the same after being billed $30,000.

Blaqbonez since shot the music video for “Back In Uni” by himself.

Equally, TG Omori has become one of the most revered music video directors in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

TG Omori, also known as Boy Director is a Nigerian music video director and cinematographer.

TG Omori has directed music videos for recording artists across various genres of new generation, includes Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, Fireboy DML, Falz, Timaya, Naira Marley, Asake and many others.
