Ayodeji Balogun, an Afrobeat icon who is better known as Wizkid has clarified his statements regarding never performing in Lagos again.

The Grammy award winner on Saturday, December 24 during his headline concert in Lagos state took time to address the misconstrued statement.

Wizkid performed before a sold-out crowd who gathered to see the megastar put up what he claims via his social media would be his last performance in Lagos.

Numerous notable musicians such as Ayra Starr, Ruger, and Young John were among the stars who performed at the concert in a fully packed Eko Hotel.

Mid-way into his performance, Wizkid clarified his statement about this being the last time he will be performing in Lagos.

The self-acclaimed Star Boy said that what he meant was that the show would be the last time his fans will be paying to see him perform in Nigeria.

Expectedly, his statement was met with positive reaction from the crowd who were fascinated that they might probably never to pay a dime to watch their favorite artiste perform for free.

Wizkid had this to say, “Lemme tell you something… When I said,it’s going to be my last show in Lagos.

When I really meant when I talk that one; with the kind of love you guys show me, it is very unfair for me to do shows around the world and still watch you guys pay me to perform.”

In conclusion, Wizkid stated, “this is the last time to come to a Wizkid show.”
