A Twitter user has taken to the microblogging site to scrutinize the source of income of skit makers and content creators in Nigeria.

According to the Twitter user with the username, @The_BeardedSina, most skit makers are not transparent with their source of income and predominantly use content creation as an avenue to ‘mask’ their involvement in internet fraud, scam and other heinous activities.

Speaking via his Twitter platform, the medical practitioner opined that most skit makers are internet fraudsters and do not necessarily make funds from skit making. He added that  he won’t be surprised if some skits are to cover money laundering.

What Is Their Source Of Income?

The opening part of his thread reads, the medical practitioner asked how most skit makers are able to amass funds within a short period.

He pondered,

One day some of these skits makers will cast
You’d just be reading news & see headline. Skitmakers buys a Mansion in Lekki

I wonder if all those skits that have bots retweeting and liking them translates to money

Won’t be surprised if some skits are to cover money laundering

Of course simple theatrics

Act funny so no one thinks you are a fraudster.

People will probably be laughing at your skits (which I don’t find funny most times ) and forget to think that’s a fraud right there

The Scam And Fraud Industry Is A Cartel…

In the latter part of the thread, the medical practitioner opined that the “scam and fraud” industry is a cartel and those involved in it are surreptitious with their approach.

He went on to mention that operatives of the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) should not only go after flamboyant internet fraudsters but should also question so-called hilarious skit makers.

His tweets read further,

I have a hypothesis which well can be an unpopular opinion

The Scam and fraud industry is a Cartel

There are those who are to be flamboyant (those labelled Yahoo boys), some to make us laugh (skit makers), some actors & actresses

Point is divert attention from the core center
