Nigerian recording artiste, Tiwa Savage has been awarded an honourary doctorate degree at the University of Kent in United Kingdom.
The mother of one who completed a degree in Accounting at the University was awarded an honorary degree during its congregation ceremonies at Canterbury and Rochester cathedrals.
In a video shared on the University of Kent’s social media, the singer congratulated the fresh graduates, urging them to do their best.
“I’m super proud and I want you to go out there, have fun and kill it. Be the best you that you can be because you truly deserve it,” the post reads.

The university gave reasons why the music star was awarded the honourary degree.
“Tiwa Savage will be made Doctor of Music in recognition of her inspirational and international career in music.”
The music star joins the list of Nigerian celebrities who have been awarded doctorate degrees from foreign universities.

Savage’s achievement is coming several weeks after Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna was awarded a doctorate degree at INSTITUT SUPERIEUR DE TECHNOLOGIES ET DE MANAGEMENT (ISTM UNIVERSITY).
Making the announcement on Instagram, he wrote;
Introducing Dr (Hon) IKECHUKWU MITCHEL OGBONNA
Thanks to the governing council of INSTITUT SUPERIEUR DE TECHNOLOGIES ET DE MANAGEMENT (ISTM UNIVERSITY)
for conferring on me Doctorate (Honorary) Degree of Arts in leadership and Development.
