The curtain for the new coterie of housemates for the seventh edition of the Big Brother Naija competition will be unraveled on Saturday, July 23, the first of a 2-days opening program. The second unveiling program would take place on Sunday evening, July 24.

And then, the show begins.

Meanwhile, the number of housemates or participants for this season has not been confirmed, however, it promises to be an exciting competition.

A couple of days ago, Moji Delano hinted that the theme of the seventh BBNaija edition is Breakfast 101. Our fingers are crossed as we await the official unravelling in less than 24 hours.

In the meantime, Nigerians and other fans of the reality show across the globe are voraciously anticipating the new season. Viewers want to live vicariously through the eyes of their new favorite housemates and escape from the daily activities of their mundane lives.

While most Nigerians nagged about the mediocrity of the Big Brother Naija Shine Ya Eyes edition in 2021, people are patiently awaiting more interesting storylines, charming personalities and the establishment of true love from the emerging candidates for the new season.

It was apparent during the Big Brother Naija: Shine Ya Eyes reunion show that the previous season was onerous to watch; this devastated fans. it’s either the viewers failed to connect with the vision and ideas of most the housemates or the housemates were just too boring to appear on mainstream TV.

It is safe to say the 2021 Big Brother Naija edition was the most boring.

The housemates lacked the originality and versatility of Bisola Aiyeola (from the 2017 Big Brother Naija Gobe edition), the tempestuous personality of Tacha (BBNaija Pepper Dem 2019) or the visionary ideologies of Mike Edwards (BBNaija Pepper Dem 2019), the class of BBNaija Shine Ya Eyes were forgettable to say the least.

Aside from Liquorose and Emmanuel‘s monotonous relationship, none of the housemates allowed themselves to enjoy the depth of romance and love. They undermined how the relationship between Miracle and Nina made them sensational reality stars in their prime.

Everyone claimed they wanted the money, albeit, they lack the skillset and dexterity to even get the viewers hypnotized.

Going forward, we hope the brand new season revitalizes the interest of viewers once again.

The Beauty Of Big Brother Naija Is Connectivity

No boring person can bag the N100 million grand prize at the end of the competition. This should be a known fact.

A reality star ought to fascinate and connect with a certain coterie of people, in 2021 something was missing.

Aside from the season winner, WhiteMoney and runner-up, Liquorose, majority of the other housemates were tweeners. They were unable to construct or develop a true personality for themselves, hence, no one understood their strategy or was able to invest in their notion.

Till date JayPaul‘s music hasn’t soared, Angel hasn’t published her book despite being a self-acclaimed author. More-often-than-not, most housemates who appear on television only came to have a good time and see if they could enjoy a little bit of 15-minutes of fame before fizzling out.

The new housemates need to connect with the fans and do create a notable program for the viewers. It would be disappointing to have consecutive mediocre Big Brother Naija editions. Nigerians and other fans of the reality show want a great show and we hope they give it to us.

In the meantime, we congratulate prospective candidates and wish them best of luck ahead of the emerging challenge.
