Portable Apologizes For Threatening Co-Headies Nominees

Nigerian musician, Portable whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola has issued a public apology to his fellow Headies nominees for threatening to ‘kill them‘.

The budding musician who is popular for inciting controversy had threatened to ‘kill and inflict pain‘ on any artiste who emerges victorious in the categories they were nominated in.

Portable who gained mainstream prominence in late 2021 received two nominations at the Headies Award; the categories include, ‘Rookie of the year‘ and ‘Best Street Hop Artiste’.

Reacting to the viral video, the award’s organizers said in a statement that he might be disqualified if he fails to retract his statement and issue an apology on his Instagram page.

The organizers also disclosed that they had reported the issue to the police.

Taking to his Instagram page on Tuesday, June 21; Portable issued a statement where he apologized and retracted his controversial statement.

The controversial recording artiste wrote on his caption;

On behalf of myself my management and the entire Zeh nation.

I sincerely apologize for my unguarded utterances; as I do not mean any harm to the nominees in any way.

The video has been deleted on my page and I appreciate all your support so far God bless my Fans.
