Tinubu Campaign Organisation Distances From Viral Manifesto

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, has claimed that he worked hard to secure the ticket.

He claims that a gang conspired against him prior to the party’s presidential primary.

Tinubu said this, on Sunday, June 19, after returning to Lagos State for the first time after defeating ex-Transport Minister Rotimi Amaechi, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, and others to become the ruling party’s nominee for next year’s election.

At the palace of Oba of Lagos, Alayeluwa Rilwan Akiolu, Tinubu said;

No Lagos indigene has had the opportunity to become President of Nigeria despite the contribution of the State to the national stability and progress.

The highest position attained by any Lagosian in national leadership is the position of Chief Judge of the Federation.

I took up the fight to break this jinx. The battle to secure the APC ticket was hard. When I was almost fed up, I resorted to prayers. I also poured out my mind when I felt there was a gang up against my person. Thank God that I have brought home the presidential ticket.

Tinubu also expressed his appreciation for the support of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu; his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat; and the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.

He urged the local government councillors and chairmen to mobilise people to vote during the upcoming 2023 general elections.

The APC presidential candidate stressed;

I want to say an open thank you to the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and his Deputy, Obafemi Hamzat, for their hard work and loyalty. Without a strong backup, you can’t have a successful leader and you cannot leave your home or office. I thank God for Lagos and the process of decision that brought these two men to lead the state. It feels happy to be back home.

If you want to benefit from a president, you have to vote for him. It is our turn and this is not a joking matter, it is a matter of prayer and action. My charge goes to all the local government councillors and chairmen who have been working hard towards the development of the state, as it is now, we will use the votes delivered and those who registered to grade you.

You can see how Ekiti State was filled with voters and the APC won, I pray God will help you achieve the same, to mobilise the people to vote.
